100 DAYS

Well boys and girls, 100 days from now I will be like a freshman on his first day of high school. I’ll be all wide eyed and worried about the stupidest things I’m sure. I’ll have that fresh rarin’ to go attitude that won’t be hampered by hundreds of miles of exhaustive miles yet. That “can’t wait to climb the next mountain” feeling will be an adrenaline rush and will have been replaced by the “lets just get this over with” dread, in 100 days.

Here’s a little list of my thoughts of what’s going to happen in 100 days (first day of the hike). In 100 days:

-I will not be missing my little puppy yet

-I will not be craving the dumbest foods in the world like the bean burritos I eat every day now yet

-My legs will feel like a million bucks and not the spaghetti they will be at 110 days from now.

-I’ll probably be carrying way too much weight in my pack because I don’t know what I can go without yet

-I’ll still be smelling good and clean shaven

-I won’t have shared my sleeping quarters with spiders, mice or bears yet

-I’ll be taking a picture of almost every square foot of the trail because I will be all excited and squirrelly.

-I won’t be missing Facebook yet

-I won’t be wondering what’s going on in the world and wanting to get some news yet

-I’ll probably be at least 20 lbs heavier than at the end of the trip

-The taste of pizza won’t be all I think about yet

-I won’t have forgotten what it was like to flirt yet

-Again, I’ll be smelling good still

-I will not be looking like Rip Van Winkle yet

-I’ll still remember how to drive a car

-And last but not least…..I’ll still be smelling good.

I can not predict the future and I definitely do not want to even try to predict this trip but I can be assure of a few things that will still be with me in 300 days from today:

-God will still be number one in my life
